Insight supporting tech start-ups in Manchester

Of course there are plenty of reasons why the North is becoming an increasingly popular home for tech companies, however a recent report suggested that one of the key factors in this accelerated growth has been due to strong transport links and importantly cheaper office space.

There are a number of high profile companies who have moved and expanded their operations to our core city hubs such as Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds- think the BBC, Sky, Sainsbury’s and Bet365 to name just a few.

Software houses and digitally focused companies recognise the value in the infrastructure that can be offered compared with extortionate prices for similar space in the capital.

In fact, living up to our friendly and open stereotypes, there are a number of spaces in the local area, specifically Manchester, which provide very reasonable and, in some cases free desk space. For those who are interested, have a look at MadLab in the Northern Quarter who operate co-working spaces for new creative and social enterprises. Also close by you could find Spaceport who allow you to book space for local entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Similarly, The Offices on in Central Manchester offer serviced meeting rooms and hot desk opportunities for very reasonable prices.

As part of the wider tech community, Insight are also delighted to offer the opportunity to use a desk in our Ancoats HQ for the rest of February… completely free.  If you’re a fledgling start up or a freelancer looking for somewhere to act as a base throughout this month, let us know. We’re friendly people and have an almost unlimited supply of coffee.
