Insight Into… Aisling Lynch. From the Stage to the Sales Floor!

What is your role at Insight and how did you get here?

I am a Candidate Consultant working within Insight’s IT division specialising in recruiting for permanent Front End Software Development roles. After finishing my degree, I was keen to start my career and throw myself into the world of work. My degree gave me the confidence to speak to people and build relationships so entering into recruitment felt like a natural fit.

How do the company values of Insight match up with you personally?

One of the Insight values that resonates most with my character is the companies commitment to being driven. I have always been a driven person, aiming high and wanting to achieve the best. Being driven and determined really helps you focus on becoming successful.

What does success mean to you?

To me, being successful is everything I want to be. I want to create myself a goal and push myself and strive to reach that goal.

What are your top tips for success?

I think remaining focused is a really important factor when it comes to being successful. It’s important not to get distracted or lose sight of your end goal. Ultimately focus on what is most important and what’s going to get you to where you want to be. Finally be prepared to put in hard work because success doesn’t come easy.

What’s the best advice you have for anyone on the job hunt?

First and foremost it’s essential to never give up – be persistent! Make sure your CV looks healthy by fully showcasing your work/voluntary experience and be resilient – you have to accept you will face knock backs! Finally be confident and don’t be afraid to be yourself!

Give us some Insight Into yourself on a personal level – when you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?

Outside of work I love to keep active and fit. I do Zumba occasionally but focus more on body conditioning. Exercise is a great stress relief for me which will come in handy now that I’ve entered the world of recruitment! I also love dance and performing arts so a big part of my spare time is spent enjoying that.
