Insight Into… Kash Abbassi. Fitness Fanatic and Full-Time Recruiter!
What is your role at Insight and how did you get here?
I have joined Insight as a Data & Business Intelligence recruitment consultant! My background lies within the fitness industry so this is quite a change for me however, a lot of the skills and characteristics I developed as a personal trainer are transferable to my new role as a recruitment consultant. I finally made the transition from fitness into the recruitment industry following countless conversations with family and friends, where my desire to take on a new challenge was confirmed. A friend, and now colleague, recommended me to Insight which is how I got here today!
How do the company values of Insight match up with you personally?
Insight’s values are Driven, Caring, Innovative and Honest – all of the aforementioned values are qualities that I’ve personally exhibited in my previous role as well as in life on a daily basis.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is measurable in many ways however it ultimately means reaching every goal that I personally set myself. I’ll consider myself successful in life when I have a thriving career that enables me to support and provide for my future family.
What are your top tips for success?
1. To be successful you need a large amount of drive – use other peoples negativity as motivation to keep pushing yourself to the top.
2. If you fail get back up and start again – the most successful people in the world hit rock bottom before they get to the top.
3. Surround yourself with successful people – ultimately you are who you surround yourself with.
What’s the best advice you have for anyone on the job hunt?
Confidence is key! I believe in the phrase “fake it till you make it” – that doesn’t mean lie, but don’t allow your own self doubt to effect you during the job hunting process.
Give us some Insight Into yourself on a personal level – when you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy going to the gym SHOCK! Alongside the gym I love to go out and socialise with friends and family – any excuse to get the tequila in! I’m also a massive film fanatic and like to keep up to date with all the new movies so I’ve got an unlimited cinema card.
