Insight Into… Alexandra Pantegi. Goal-setter and Go-getter!

What is your role at Insight and how did you get here?

I specialise in placing Front End Developers across Manchester and the North West. I’ve spent the past three years working in PPI and have been managing for the last 12 months. I’ve started at Insight as a 360-consultant due to my previous sales experience which is a really exciting prospect!

How do the company values of Insight match up with you personally?

I have always been driven from a young age and have always focused on my next step to progression! In my previous role I started out on the phones as a sales agent then progressed to training manager then manager. From the moment I walked into Insights office everyone was so welcoming and there was an immediate element of care! This was important to me as I had a real family feel within my last role. We all cared about each other which helped us to work better as a team!

What does success mean to you?

Success for me is setting goals and achieving them! I am quite a goal orientated person and know exactly where I want to be in 10 years’ time. I think it’s important to have a sense of direction in terms of success and for each goal a ‘how’ for how exactly you are going to achieve it!

What are your top tips for success?

My top tips for success would be to set targets/goals and to break them down. Strive for progress and not perfection! Success can take time so if you do something productive each day towards your target success is inevitable! Also, be the hardest working person you know! In my last job the people who made the most money were the first in/last out each day. If you work harder than anyone else, you will be successful.

What’s the best advice you have for anyone on the job hunt?

The advice I would give is don’t stress! I am quite fussy and even though I went to several interviews and had offers on the table I didn’t take the first job offered to me. Your career is a big part of your life and you don’t want to rush into it! Make sure you take your time to research companies you have applied for! Make sure everything is right for you from culture to progression opportunities! A career is a long-term option!

Give us some Insight Into yourself on a personal level – when you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?

When I’m not working I enjoy going out in Manchester with my friends. My favourite places to go are Neighbourhood and Menagerie. I also enjoy going for food- my fave spot at the minute is Australasia. I enjoy reading especially about mindset and how it affects us! I love a good pamper and enjoy going on holidays and definitely want to see more of the world!
