Insight Into… Abigail Sanders. Our Travelling and Tapas Loving Business Intelligence Consultant!
What is your role at Insight and how did you get here?
I have joined Insight as a Recruitment Consultant specialising in the Business Intelligence sector placing permanent candidates! I previously worked as a Recruitment Manager for a Sales and Marketing Comms company and was responsible for sourcing talent, creatives, entrepreneurs and potential business partners. My experience made joining Insight feel like a natural next step in my career progression!
How do the company values of Insight match up with you personally?
I would say that the Insight values (Honest, Driven, Caring and Innovative) match up top my principles perfectly. I have always been a big believer that honesty is the best policy. I am also very driven and like to strive for more. I care about who I am, what I do and about the people around me. Nevertheless, I believe that innovation is essential for improvement both personally and in the working environment!
What does success mean to you?
Success means overcoming failures, remaining resilient and using these failures for future improvement and action point. I don’t believe in success without failure first.
I will consider myself to be a successful person once I have overcome many challenges, exceeded my goals and targets and have become a better version of myself.
What are your top tips for success?
Remain resilient and persist through the tough times. Don’t let failures bring you down, they are simply part of the journey to achieving success.
Always maintain a positive attitude. The only difference between a good and a bad day lies in your attitude.
What’s the best advice you have for anyone on the job hunt?
If one way of looking for a job isn’t working, you might be looking in the wrong place. Don’t stick to the traditional methods of job hunting (such as sending out CVs and waiting to hear back). Upload your CV to the job boards, network with contacts in the industry, contact recruitment agencies, make yourself known.
Give us some Insight Into yourself on a personal level – when you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I am a very outgoing person and love to keep myself busy. I am really into horse-riding, visiting new places, going to the gym and hiking. I love reading books related to business, autobiographies, sales and psychology. I adore travelling and aim to visit 5 new countries this year. Additionally, as I was raised in Spain, I love my tapas and wine!
